Love Kate's trip to PG Live
Kate and her husband Chris recently travelled to London on the
sleeper train from Cornwall to attend the PG
Live show 2018. PG Live is the only show in the UK dedicated wholly
to the greeting cards industry. The show is enjoyed by thousands of
retailers and distributors from all over the world each year, which
creates a great community feel within the industry. The show takes place
at The Business Design Centre in Islington, one of London’s most vibrant
areas. The show was spread across the 5th and 6th of June, as it
celebrated its 10th anniversary. This milestone injected a great buzz in
to the atmosphere, making for a memorable day, Kate says. It seems there
are lots of 10th Birthdays this year, as Boofle and Love
Kate’s are also going to be celebrating their own.
Kate was keen to tell us about the fantastic time they had at the show:
“It was such a great day out! As well as a free lunch, it was a great
opportunity to catch up with existing suppliers such as Second Nature
and explore new card concepts and designs. Everyone in the building was
equally devoted to this industry, which created a really lovely space to
inspire and admire one another.” Kate attends the spring fair in
Birmingham every February but hadn’t previously visited PG Live. Kate
says “The spring fair is great, but it can be quite overwhelming as it
includes gifts and all sorts of other things. PG Live was purely just
cards which allowed us to really focus on trying to source new cards
that would excite our customers.”
Excitingly, Kate placed several large orders at the show, from a
handful of suppliers including Dandelion
Stationery and Bexy
Boo. Dandelion Stationary is a wonderful familyrun business offering
cards that are designed, printed and hand-finished in Derbyshire. Bexy
Boo is owned by a wonderful mother or three named Bex. Bexy boo is a
multi-awardwinning business offering a great range of hand-finished
cards. These orders, as well as some others, will bring about lots of
exciting new ideas and embellishments to Love Kate’s over the coming
months.
