As the price of 1st Class stamps rises to a new high of £1.65 (yes, £1.65 for just one stamp!), we want to inspire everyone to remember that sending Christmas cards can still be an affordable and joyful experience. The humble 2nd Class stamp, at only 85p, allows you to spread love and wishes far and wide for a more budget-friendly price, all you need to do is send your cards a little bit earlier. With this small choice, you can still share your love and joy widely—keeping us all connected, together with wishes.

What is 'Festive Friday'?
The fun campaign kicked off by the Greeting Card Association (GCA) on the last Friday in November is all about encouraging everyone to send their Christmas cards early!
It’s a wonderful way to encourage people to stay connected with loved ones while using budget-friendly second-class stamps at Christmastime. Showing how it's super easy to spread some festive cheer without spending a fortune!
#Cardmitment: John O'Groats to Land's End
The GCA is taking Festive Friday a step further with the ‘Land’s End to John O’Groats for 85p’ campaign... That’s just £0.001 per mile!
The mission behind the GCA’s national #Cardmitment campaign is to remind people of the powerful and positive impact the simple act of sending a card can have on individuals, communities and society, especially at Christmas time.
That's where we come in! As one of the closest and largest card shops to Land’s End, right here in Newquay, Cornwall, our Love Kate’s team is eager to unleash our creativity and inspire everyone to share extra warm wishes through the post this Christmas season.
Let’s make it magical together by sending 1000 more Christmas wishes to 1000 homes and hearts to keep the tradition alive, one cards at a time!
The Backstory of Our Mission!
During one of our end-of-summer team meetings, the conversation naturally turned to Christmas—something that tends to happen at a card shop in August! We began to wonder, "How can Kate kick off the wave of Christmas card sending and inspire people to join in?"
Then, the brainstorming began! Leading us to the idea of decorating the Land's End First and Land post box for December with a festive crochet hat made by our talented team member, Maddy. This then sparked the idea of not just posting any card into this wonderfully decorated post box, by why not create our very own!
We created Kate’s Christmas card, our in-house artist, Tabitha Corbett, has beautifully illustrated this card to help spread the message of ‘Together with Wishes’ from our hearts to yours. Featuring an artistic design that showcases the post box, Maddy's crochet hat, and the iconic Land's End signpost. On the signpost, we’ve signposted your heart and their home, emphasising the connection between loved ones.
How Can I Take Part?
If you’d like to join in on this wonderful festive movement, simply add one of our 'Together with Wishes' cards to your basket. You can choose to add just 1 card for free with your Love Kate's order, or you can enjoy 5 for 4 to send more—the choice is yours! Feel free to pop it in your cart along with the rest of your Christmas purchases.
When you send out your Love Kate's card, don’t forget to take a snapshot or a quick video of yourself posting it and share it on your social media! Let the recipient know they can share their card too, whether they want to highlight the heartfelt message inside or show where they’ve proudly displayed it in their home.

A Message From Kate...
Christmas card sending is important to me—and I know it’s important to you, too. I have friends with whom our annual exchange of Christmas cards, complete with snippets of family updates, is an integral part of our now distant relationship. It’s such a joy to send cards—and to receive them too.
This year, I’m hoping my mission to send 1,000 extra cards will help reignite that spark or re-engage a lost connection through cards. After all, to lose such an important tradition—whether because of busy lives, tight budgets, or rising stamp prices—would be a shame, too great to bear. Shouldn’t these very reasons make us more passionate about sending cards?
