No, we didn’t think so. Simply dreaming of a ‘Normal Christmas’ seems wishful these days.
In such unprecedented times, hoping for a Christmas shared with family and friends would be a dream come true for many. Spending time together has come to mean so much more these days. Not surprisingly, many of us are planning our Christmas festivities already (there is little else to do, let’s face it!) Christmas 2020 is going to be more meaningful this year, bigger and better, and also - hopefully - normal.

Sending cards has rarely been so important, as we all came to realise during lock-down. Card sending and present sharing this year needs to be spot on. Just as you may secretly be dreaming of a ‘White Christmas’ if it does turn out to be ‘Normal’ it will be the cherry on the top, the icing on the cake, and the end to 2020 that all of us very much needs! Whilst there may not be much kissing under the Mistletoe this year we can all take part in sharing perfect Christmas cards and gifts, spreading love and happiness, and sending virtual hugs and festive cheer.
As our supermarket shelves get filled and emptied (sometimes in panic), and extra-long-socially-distanced-Christmas-shopping-queues seem likely, many of us will be shopping online this year. Filling our baskets from the comfort of our own homes and without the need to wear a facemask. Our posties and delivery drivers are very likely in for the busiest Christmastime ever, and who knows how that will all go.
So, it seems Christmas is coming early.
